We want to grow the school and keep kids coming and when you develop a new website, it attracts people.”

— Bryan Marcus

New principal Bryan Marcus has been busy this summer. His first project: overhauling the school’s previously static website. The new website ( has undergone many alterations, including new colors, banners, photos and buttons.

Marcus used the redesign process to help him learn about his new school community.

“As I was transitioning from Diegueno last year and beginning to educate myself on La Costa Canyon by talking to staff, students and parents, [the website] was an area that a lot of people said they wanted to address but didn’t have the opportunity to,” Marcus said.

Marcus hopes the website will be both useful and attractive to students, staff and parents, and that it showcases what LCC has to offer.

“I like starting the process of what we want our school to be known for,” Marcus said. “We want to grow the school and keep kids coming and when you develop a new website, it attracts people,” Marcus said.

Marcus started the redesign process in May, beginning with support and suggestions from staff.

“I was able to assemble a good team of core teachers so that we could come up with a template of what we wanted our website to look like,” Marcus said.
